When the Cleveland Browns fired executive vice president Sashi Brown on Thursday, head coach Hue Jackson was assured he'd return for the 2018 season.
Owner Jimmy Haslam provided even stronger support of his second-year head coach on Friday.
"We plan on Hue Jackson being our football coach here for a long time," Haslam said Friday as he introduced John Dorsey as his new general manager.
Dorsey and Jackson don't know each other well, but the veteran personnel evaluator said he likes what he's seen from afar.
"I like him as a man. I like his overall offensive schematics. I just like the way the team plays, they play hard," Dorsey said.
Haslam also confirmed chief strategy officer Paul DePodesta will remain with the team.
