Pittsburgh Steelers fans were provided with some encouraging news Tuesday morning, as Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is reporting linebacker Ryan Shazier has begun to show movement in his lower extremities after a scary play in Monday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Shazier was carted off the field after attempting to tackle Bengals wide receiver Josh Malone, and was reportedly diagnosed with a spinal contusion after being taken to hospital.

Head coach Mike Tomlin did not provide a medical update at Tuesday's press conference other than to say Shazier remains in a Cincinnati hospital.

Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert issued a statement following the game, confirming Shazier underwent both a CT scan and an MRI on his injured back, and he would remain in the hospital overnight despite not requiring surgery.

The Steelers went on to earn a comeback 23-20 victory over the Bengals to bump their record to 10-2 on the season.
