Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon will not return to Monday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to a concussion.
Mixon was taken to the locker room during the second quarter of Monday's game to be evaluated for head and shoulder injuries after colliding violently with Steelers linebacker Vince Williams.
The rookie running back walked off the field under his own power and headed to the medical tent before going to the locker room. He was initially deemed questionable to return.
Mixon finished the game with 34 yards on seven carries, along with one catch for 8 yards.
Giovani Bernard took over as lead back in Mixon's absence.
