New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has been suspended one game for violating the NFL's unnecessary roughness rules.
The tight end took a running dive onto a downed opponent during Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills. Gronkowski led with his elbow into the back of the head of Bills corner Tre'Davious White.
NFL vice president of football operations Jon Runyan deemed Gronkowski's actions "not incidental" and added that he "placed the opposing player at risk of serious injury."
