New York Giants co-owner John Mara confirmed at owner meetings on Wednesday that he wants to see quarterback Eli Manning back with the team for the 2018 season, per Albert Breer of MMQB.

Mara did note that the new general manager and head coach will be involved in the decision and another quarterback could be drafted. The Giants will begin interviews for the vacant GM job next week, Mara told Bob Glauber of Newsday on Wednesday.

The Giants owner was reportedly furious over how his team's image was sullied following former head coach Ben McAdoo's handling of Manning in Week 13.

McAdoo and GM Jerry Reese were fired after the Giants lost with Geno Smith at the helm. Manning returned to the starting lineup the next week.

Manning, 36, has two years remaining on his current contract after this season.
