The Packers are hoping to have Aaron Rodgers back under center for Week 15, though Green Bay will need to still be in playoff contention and the star quarterback will need to be medically cleared, a league source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Rodgers reportedly practiced Saturday for the first time since breaking his collarbone on Oct. 15 and was designated as one of the Packers' two players to return from injured reserve. Week 15 is the earliest Rodgers is eligible to return under IR rules.

The Brett Hundley-led Packers have struggled in Rodgers' absence, losing four of the five games he's missed. At 5-6, Green Bay will need to win its next two games (versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, at the Cleveland Browns) to stay in contention for a wild-card spot in a highly competitive NFC.

Rodgers was playing at his usual All-Pro level before the injury, throwing for 1,385 yards and 13 touchdowns in six games.
