Ronaldo leads Instagram's most-liked sports photos, videos of 2017

Cristiano Ronaldo was a popular follow on Instagram this year.

Data released Wednesday by the social media platform showed the Real Madrid star, who has 116 million followers, had nine of the 10 most-liked sports-related photos (Neymar was the only other athlete to crack the top 10), and seven of the most-liked sports-related videos on Instagram in 2017.

Ronaldo also topped the list of athletes who gained the most followers in 2017, amassing more than 30 million between Jan. 1 and Nov. 17.
