Eagles can clinch NFC East without even playing Thursday
Bill Streicher / USA TODAY Sports
How good has this season been for the Philadelphia Eagles? The 10-1 club can clinch the NFC East on Thursday night without even playing.
That's because Philly currently owns a five-game division lead with five weeks remaining in the regular season and their closest rivals, the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins, meet on Thursday Night Football.
If the third-place Redskins top the second-place Cowboys or the game results in a tie, the Eagles would win their first division title since 2013.
The Eagles would be the first team to clinch a playoff spot this season. No other team can qualify for the postseason in Week 13.
