Roethlisberger refuses to look ahead to Week 15 showdown vs. Patriots

Although the football world is frantically anticipating a Week 15 clash between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots, Ben Roethlisberger is taking things a week at a time.

As many anticipated, the Steelers and Patriots emerged as the class of the AFC, boasting identical 9-2 records, and are seemingly on a collision course to meet in the AFC Championship Game for the second consecutive year.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin predicted "fireworks" between the teams, but Roethlisberger isn't concerned about the Dec. 17 game at the moment.

"For me, I am 100 percent on Cincinnati and nothing else. That is my biggest focus because these guys are going to come out to get us. They want to ruin our playoff chances. I know those guys are going to want to get after us and try to ruin our Christmas," Roethlisberger said via ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Roethlisberger also shot down the notion of advanced scouting, saying the Steelers merely focus on their weekly opponent before moving onto rivals like the Patriots and Baltimore Ravens.

"There is zero Patriots, Ravens film," Roethlisberger said. "(No) work talk of anything like that with any team other than the Bengals. I know there's a lot of Patriots talk and a lot of Steelers-Patriots and all that stuff. What I see, especially from me and in the locker room, there isn't that talk.
