Tyrod Taylor replaces Nathan Peterman after brutal debut

Jake Roth / USA TODAY Sports

Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor replaced Nathan Peterman in the third quarter after the rookie threw five interceptions in the first half of his debut Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Head coach Sean McDermott announced earlier in the week that the team would bench Taylor in favor of Peterman despite occupying the sixth AFC playoff spot with a winning record.

Peterman's five first-half interceptions were two more than Taylor had thrown all season.

The Bills trailed 37-7 when Peterman, who completed 6-of-14 passes for 66 yards, was benched.
