The Miami Dolphins have waived linebacker Rey Maualuga after the nine-year pro was arrested in Miami-Dade County early Saturday morning, a source told Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio.
Maualuga could be facing battery charges, according to ESPN's James Walker.
The former Cincinnati Bengal signed a one-year contract with the Dolphins in August. He played six games this season, recording 23 tackles with no sacks, forced fumbles, or interceptions.
