Each of the nine players who received the $17.4-million qualifying offer from their respective clubs has opted to decline it to pursue free agency.

Kansas City Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer, outfielder Lorenzo Cain, and third baseman Mike Moustakas, Chicago Cubs right-hander Jake Arrieta and closer Wade Davis, Cleveland Indians first baseman Carlos Santana, Colorado Rockies closer Greg Holland, Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Alex Cobb, and St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Lance Lynn officially hit the open market following the 5 p.m. ET deadline Thursday.

Each player remains eligible to re-sign with their respective clubs, but it will cost another organization draft pick compensation in order to sign any of the players attached to a qualifying offer.
