Aaron Rodgers has taken the next step in his rehab from a broken collarbone, returning to the practice field, though he's still not throwing a football.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback participated in Wednesday's team practice, though he stuck mostly to conditioning drills and working on his throwing motion using a towel.

"It was just good being back on the practice field," Rodgers told ESPN's Jason Wilde.

But the timeline for his return to action hasn't been expedited.

"Schedule hasn't changed. Out eight weeks. Only back if it's completely healed," he said.

Rodgers suffered the injury in mid-October when he was driven into the turf by Minnesota Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr in Week 6. He required 13 screws to put the collarbone in place.

It's been a month since the injury, and the Packers are happy with how far Rodgers has come.

"I think he's making really good progress," head coach Mike McCarthy said at Thursday's press conference, according to Wes Hodkiewicz of Packers.com. “I know the training staff and strength and conditioning staff are pleased with where he is.”
