The Cleveland Browns' fortunes just got worse.

The Browns announced on Monday that linebacker Jamie Collins is out for the rest of the season with an MCL injury.

"He's one of our best players, one of our leaders ... we'll miss him but that's football," head coach Hue Jackson said.

Collins sustained the injury after getting tackled following an interception in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions.

The Browns signed Collins to a four-year deal in January after acquiring him via trade with the New England Patriots last season.

In six games played this year, the 28-year-old had 31 total tackles, one sack, and the aforementioned interception.
