Tennessee is turning its attention to replacing Butch Jones and there have certainly been some high-profile candidates rumored for the role.

One of which is Jon Gruden, who athletic director John Currie wouldn't comment on Sunday.

"I won’t comment on any specific candidate," Currie said when asked about Gruden, according to Blake Morgan of SEC Country. "My responsibility is to conduct as efficient a search as possible."

Gruden's name inevitably comes up whenever there is a significant opening in the NFL, but his name has been mentioned more in the college football world this season.

The 54-year-old hasn't coached since 2008 and has been in the "Monday Night Football" booth since 2009. Gruden said back in August that he doesn't see himself coaching anytime soon, but he also noted that he continues to study as a coach and prepares his own playbook.

It would likely take a lucrative offer to pry Gruden out of the broadcast booth, and Currie indicated that money wouldn't be an issue in the search.

"We know we have the resources to find the next coach," Currie said.

Gruden owns a 95-81 record with the Oakland Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers and won a Super Bowl in 2003.
