Diego Simeone's job is safe despite Atletico Madrid's frustrating start to the season.
Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo defended the Argentine manager, who has garnered plenty of negative attention following the team's poor play.
Regardless of the eight-point deficit behind Barcelona after 11 matches, Cerezo doesn't expect to go on the hunt for a new manager anytime soon.
"I want to say this in a loud voice. Simeone is untouchable at Atletico Madrid, for the players, for the directors, and for the supporters," he said, according to ESPN FC.
Cerezo added that talk of any distrust in Simeone "is not allowed" at Atletico.
Atletico's troubles go beyond La Liga, as Simeone's men have yet to register a victory in the Champions League and face the threat of elimination with just two matches remaining against Roma and Chelsea in the group stage.
Los Rojiblancos will attempt to leapfrog rival Real Madrid during the season's first capital-city derby on Nov. 18.
