A new boxing series is in the works at NBC, with "Fast and the Furious" star Vin Diesel as one of its executive producers.
Diesel has teamed up with "Mudbound" writer and producer Virgil Williams to develop a boxing drama called "Crushers Club," according to The Hollywood Reporter's Kate Stanhope. The hour-long show focuses on a "struggling boxing gym, which serves as a second home for kids in one of Chicago’s toughest neighborhoods," and the unlikely support it receives from a single mother from the suburbs.
Williams will write the script and serve as an executive producer with Diesel through his company, One Race Productions. Diesel's company is also involved in NBC's reboot of "Miami Vice."
