Giants' Collins: McAdoo 'needs to be the coach next year'

Despite reports that he could be fired, New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo still has the support of one of his best players.

Following the team's loss Sunday to the San Francisco 49ers - who entered the game with no wins in 2017 - All-Pro safety Landon Collins said McAdoo "needs to be the coach next year," according to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post.

The Giants had reportedly not planned to make a decision regarding changes to the coaching or front-office staff until after the season, although Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported Sunday that a loss to the 49ers could be the end of the road for McAdoo.

Both Collins and McAdoo also denied reports that the coach had lost the team after a blowout loss to the Rams last week.
