The Houston Texans have discussed looking into signing free-agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick in the wake of Deshaun Watson's season-ending knee injury, Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports.

Tom Savage started Week 9 against the Indianapolis Colts, but the offense failed to score a point during the first half.

While Kaepernick is widely considered the best quarterback available on the open market, some have questioned whether Houston would look at signing him considering his collusion grievance against the NFL.

Texans owner Bob McNair is among the team owners who've reportedly been deposed in the case.

McNair also made headlines recently by comparing player protests during the national anthem to "inmates running the prison." Kaepernick was the first player to protest during the anthem, doing so throughout the 2016 season.
