Report: Elliott's lawyers attempting to settle case with NFL, get ban reduced

Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

Ezekiel Elliott's lawyers are trying to settle his suspension case with the NFL and get his six-game ban reduced, a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN.

However, neither the NFL nor the NFL Players Association intends to settle the case at this time. It's unclear how many games Elliott's lawyers have proposed for a reduced suspension.

Elliott is set to play in Week 9 on Sunday after the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals granted him an administrative stay of his six-game suspension Friday.

While his lawyers are apparently attempting to compromise with the NFL, Elliott reiterated Friday that he won't consider accepting the ban as he wants to clear his name of the domestic violence allegations against him.
