Dolphins' Ross and players partner to create yearly fund advocating social justice
Miami Dolphins players and owner Stephen Ross created a yearly fund for advocacy and social justice programs, according to a team statement. The team will also honor groups and organizations in South Florida that are tackling these challenges in the community at home games.
The programs being created include: Social Justice Grant Program, Project Change Scholarship, Police Athletic League of North Miami, 5000 Role Models and Miami Dolphins Police and Youth Conference, RISE Leadership Programs, CommUNITY Tailgate, and Unity Day.
The goals of the programs range from identifying and funding organizations in need, funding deserving high school students, sponsoring police athletic leagues, and promoting positive interaction between youth and law enforcement.
These campaigns go beyond the work of the Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality, a program founded by Stephen Ross in 2015.
