The San Francisco 49ers placed wide receiver Pierre Garcon on injured reserve due to a season-ending neck injury, general manager John Lynch confirmed Thursday.
Garcon suffered the injury during Sunday's loss with the Philadelphia Eagles after colliding with a staff member on the sidelines.
The 31-year-old recorded 40 catches for 500 yards and no touchdowns this season.

It's a tough loss for a 49ers offense that has struggled immensely throughout the season. Marquise Goodwin and Trent Taylor could be in line for more touches as a result.
