Report: Texans receive better draft pick after Lane fails physical

Jody Gomez / USA TODAY Sports

After failing his physical following a trade to the Houston Texans on Monday, cornerback Jeremy Lane was dropped from the deal and replaced with draft-pick compensation, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.

The Texans will now get a 2018 third-round pick and a 2019 second-round pick from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for left tackle Duane Brown and a 2018 fifth-round pick. Lane will reportedly return to the Seahawks but may be released for salary cap reasons.

The initial trade was set to send Brown to Seattle for Lane, a 2018 fifth-round pick, and the 2019 second-rounder that stayed in the deal.
