Report: Josh Gordon to meet with NFL about reinstatement Wednesday
Suspended Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon is set to meet with the NFL about his potential reinstatement Wednesday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Schefter originally reported the meeting was scheduled for Tuesday.
Should Gordon be reinstated, he may not head back to Cleveland. A source told Schefter the Browns might have been looking to trade his rights before Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET deadline, though they didn't complete a deal.
If Gordon is reinstated, it'll almost certainly be on a conditional basis. He was denied reinstatement in May and entered a 90-day rehab program - believed to be his fourth such trip - on June 21 in part to help convince the NFL to lift his indefinite ban for multiple violations of the league's substance abuse policy. He left rehab Sept. 21.
The pass-catcher hasn't played since December 2014, but was considered an elite talent after leading the league in receiving yards in 2013.
