Bears' Miller underwent successful surgery on torn leg artery

Miller sustained a dislocated knee Sunday against the New Orleans Saints and was rushed to University Medical Center New Orleans to undergo emergency vascular surgery on a torn popliteal artery.

The operation involved grafting tissue from Miller's other leg to repair the damaged artery. The surgery was reportedly necessary to save his leg.
"Successful surgery was performed immediately on Sunday by the UMC vascular surgeons to stabilize his injury," the Bears announced Monday afternoon.
"Zach remains at UMC, along with Bears medical personnel, where he will stay under further evaluation."
Miller will next undergo an MRI on the blood flow and anatomy of the injured leg, Mortensen reports.
