Report: Meeting between owners and Players Coalition postponed
The proposed meeting between NFL owners and the Players Coalition scheduled for Monday is off, as the sides are going to reschedule the gathering, a source told Jim Trotter of ESPN.
Among those invited to attend were Roger Goodell, Houston Texans owner Bob McNair, and free-agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
McNair came under fire over the weekend for his comments about the player's national anthem protests. He said, "We can't have the inmates running the prison," when discussing the protests, per Seth Wickersham and Don Van Natta Jr. from ESPN the Magazine.
The comment was met with anger by players, and the coalition released a statement expressing its feelings and invited McNair to talk about his quote.
