Report: Contenders calling Steelers about Bryant
Contending teams have been contacting the Pittsburgh Steelers to try and trade for disgruntled wide receiver Martavis Bryant despite the team's insistence he won't be moved, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Though it's unclear if they're still interested, the New England Patriots were one of the teams who called Pittsburgh about Bryant before the draft, adds Rapoport.
Bryant was demoted to the scout team and will be inactive for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions amid his ongoing attempts to force his way out of Pittsburgh.
The 25-year-old has been a major disappointment after returning from a yearlong suspension. He has struggled to re-establish his role in the Steelers' offense and has caught just 18 passes for 234 yards and one touchdown in seven games.
