Dodgers-Astros sets World Series record for most home runs

Gary A. Vasquez / USA TODAY Sports

The ball was flying out of Dodger Stadium at a historic pace Wednesday night.

Two of the most prolific offenses in the majors combined for eight home runs during Game 2, as the Houston Astros and Los Angeles Dodgers broke the record for the most home runs in a World Series game.

Marwin Gonzalez, Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa, and George Springer homered for the Astros, while Joc Pederson, Corey Seager, Yasiel Puig, and Charlie Culberson went deep for the Dodgers.

"The ball flies in this ballpark," Correa told FOX Sports postgame.

Five of those eight homers came in extras, setting another postseason record, according to ESPN Stats and Info.
