Report: Hightower out vs. Chargers, could miss more time

New England Patriots linebacker Dont'a Hightower will not play this Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers due to a shoulder injury that could cause him to miss more time, a source told Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald.

Hightower left Sunday's win over the Atlanta Falcons with the injury and did not return. He's made just 14 tackles with two sacks through five games this season.

The sixth-year pro already missed two games this season with a knee injury.

Veteran David Harris is expected to take Hightower's spot in the starting lineup.
