Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is "ready to go" following his devastating knee injury sustained in August 2016, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Bridgewater is eligible to begin practicing this week, and will have a physical Monday to help determine whether he is ready to do so, added Rapoport. He has been throwing and doing football activities as part of his rehab.

The Vikings continue to believe the young pivot will play this season.

As for the issue of Bridgewater's contract, which could have potentially tolled over had he remained sidelined for all of 2017 and robbed him of a chance at free agency, Rapoport says it's not expected to pose a problem with the 24-year-old on track for a return.

This means Bridgewater will be a free agent in 2018.
