Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum has been suspended one game by the NBA without pay for leaving the bench area during an altercation in the fourth quarter of Portland's preseason win over the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday.
Under NBA rules, McCollum must serve the suspension in the first game he is physically able to play in. Because he's currently not listed on Portland's injury report, he will miss the season opener Wednesday against those same Suns.
McCollum regrets suspension: West 'is already tough enough as it is'
McCollum walked onto the floor in reaction to a brief altercation between Blazers teammate Caleb Swanigan and Phoenix's Alex Len.
