Disturbing video shows Panthers fan sucker-punching another fan
Warning: Story contains coarse language and video contains graphic content
A violent altercation between two fans at Thursday night's Carolina Panthers-Philadelphia Eagles game was caught on camera.
In the video, a man wearing a Panthers jersey can be seen punching an older man in the face multiple times, causing him to bleed. The Instagram user who uploaded the video said the aggressor and his girlfriend had been standing during the game, and when the older man complained, he fired off several insults before sucker-punching him.
The Panthers released a statement Friday, announcing they have identified the aggressor and are working with police "to pursue charges to the fullest extent of the law," according to ESPN's David Newton:
We have reviewed video tape of the incident and have identified the perpetrator. We are working with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department to pursue charges to the fullest extent of the law. The Carolina Panthers are committed to a fan-friendly and family-friendly stadium experience. The behavior exhibited by the perpetrator is unacceptable and will not be condoned at Bank of America Stadium.
