Chicago Bears wide receiver Markus Wheaton could miss 4-6 weeks with a tear in his groin, sources told Adam Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Wheaton signed a two-year contract with the Bears in March.

The 26-year-old spent the first four seasons of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers and is two years removed from a 44-catch, 709-yard season.

Chicago's wide receivers have been ravaged by injuries this year, with Cameron Meredith and Kevin White both out for the year.

Kendall Wright and Josh Bellamy remain atop the Bears' depth chart.
