Giants suspend Rodgers-Cromartie indefinitely after McAdoo meeting

Robert Deutsch / USA TODAY Sports

New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo informed cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie that he will be suspended indefinitely in a meeting Thursday, the team confirmed following a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Under the collective bargaining agreement, the Giants can sideline the veteran for a maximum of four weeks, added Rapoport.

Rodgers-Cromartie returned to the team facility Thursday following an argument with McAdoo last week over his playing time.

The veteran threw his helmet after being taken off the field in Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Chargers due to an injury, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN. After being informed he would be inactive for Week 6, Cromartie left the team, leading to his suspension.

Rodgers-Cromartie stands to lose $410,588 each week he is suspended, according to Raanan.
