Report: Titans pass on opportunity to work out Kaepernick
All Colin Kaepernick wants is the chance to crack an NFL roster, and with the Tennessee Titans recently losing quarterback Marcus Mariota to a hamstring injury, an opportunity was seemingly there for him to do so.
While Tennessee was made aware of Kaepernick's desire to work out for the team, talks between the two parties were unable to advance, sources told CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora.
Kaepernick's agents reportedly continue to reach out to teams to gauge interest, but thus far, there hasn't been any.
The Titans wound up inking 33-year-old Brandon Weeden after working out the likes of T.J. Yates, Matt Barkley, and Matt McGloin - all of whom don't have Kaepernick's credentials behind center.

Head coach Mike Mularkey said earlier in the week that Kaepernick was likely never in the running for the job due to his lack of knowledge of the Titans' offensive system.
Even with the Weeden signing, Tennessee will likely roll with Matt Cassel in Week 5 against the Miami Dolphins, with Weeden being the primary backup. Mariota was initially considered a game-time decision after taking part in individual drills more and more throughout the week during practices.
Kaepernick has suited up for 69 games since 2011, throwing for over 12,000 yards, 72 touchdowns, and 30 interceptions, while rushing for 13 scores and 2,300 yards on the ground.
