Look: Cam Newton wears hat featuring 'Rosie the Riveter'

Cam Newton appeared to send a message with his travel attire Saturday.

A picture tweeted out by the Carolina Panthers showed the quarterback wearing a hat featuring the iconic World War II propaganda image of "Rosie the Riveter" as he boarded the team plane.

Newton faced heavy backlash earlier this week for saying he found it "funny to hear a female talk about routes" in response to a reporter's question. He has since apologized, acknowledging his word choice was "extremely degrading and disrespectful to women."
