Manchester City will be evaluating Sergio Aguero after the Argentinian forward was injured in a car accident.

On Friday, City announced that Aguero will be assessed by club doctors after being involved in a road accident in the Netherlands on Thursday. El Kun was in a taxi that crashed into a lamp post, leaving him with a broken rib. According to TyC Sports, he was returning to the airport following a concert by Maluma, a Colombian artist, and will be out for two months.

"Sergio Aguero will be assessed by club doctors today after being involved in a road accident on Thursday," City said. "The City forward was in Holland on his day off and has sustained injuries. He will return to Manchester this morning and his status will be checked ahead of tomorrow's Premier League clash at Chelsea."

In conversation with Radio Metro, Aguero declared: "The taxi driver didn't see the curve and skidded. And when he lost control we hit the post. I broke the eighth rib and it hurts a lot. I was hospitalied, but they gave me a quick discharge and I'll have to rest."

Clarin published an alleged photograph of the taxi after the accident.

If Aguero is indeed out for two months, he'll miss Argentina's last two games in CONMEBOL's 2018 World Cup qualifying. La Albiceleste, fifth in the standings and in danger of missing out on Russia, will close out the two-year marathon by hosting fourth-place Peru at La Bombonera on Oct. 5 and playing away to Ecuador at Estadio Olimpico Atahualpa on Oct. 10. Four national teams qualify automatically from South America, while whoever finishes fifth must go through an inter-confederation play-off involving New Zealand.

A two-month recovery would also mean Aguero misses seven Premier League matches and three Champions League battles.
