Packers' Montgomery reportedly breaks ribs vs. Bears
Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports
The Green Bay Packers are in trouble at the running back position as Ty Montgomery left Thursday's game against the Chicago Bears with a chest injury and will not return.
Montgomery got off to a hot start versus Green Bay's division rival, running for 28 yards on just five carries before sustaining the injury and heading to the locker room.
Sources told Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network that Montgomery suffered broken ribs and will not return, but the club has yet to confirm the news.
Should Montgomery be out for an extended period of time, the Packers would be woefully thin at running back as no one else on the team's roster has more than five carries this season.
