Ebron, Collins engage in war of words after Lions defeat Giants

It's safe to say that Detroit Lions tight end Eric Ebron and New York Giants safety Landon Collins won't be buying each other birthday presents anytime soon.

Ebron led the Lions with five catches for 42 yards and a touchdown during the Lions' 24-10 win over the Giants, but said he couldn't enjoy himself upon reaching the end zone because of Collins.

"I was pissed off,” Ebron said via Justin Rogers of The Detroit News. "I was pissed off at that little punk of a safety they've got over there."

Ebron was particularly dismayed by what he felt was a dirty hit from Collins earlier in the contest.

"Collins, he played a good game, that hit just pissed me off and I didn’t feel like celebrating," Ebron said. "I wasn’t in that kind of joyful mood. It was still a good game. He played his butt off trying to guard me. I commend him for that."

Collins responded Tuesday, unfazed by Ebron's comments.
