Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano confirmed Monday that Andrew Luck has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns.

Luck has yet to play this season as he continues to recover from offseason shoulder surgery.

Pagano told reporters that he doesn't have a timetable for Luck's eventual return to practice. However, when asked by ESPN's Mike Wells if he doubted Luck's recovery at some juncture of the 2017 season, Pagano simply quipped, "No."

Jacoby Brissett is expected to start in Luck's absence. Brissett was acquired in a trade with the New England Patriots on September 2.

Brissett went 20-of-37 for 216 yards and an interception during the Colts' 16-13 overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2. After Scott Tolzien submitted an abysmal performance during the team's 46-9 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1, Brissett supplanted him as the starter.
