The Miami Dolphins filed a missing persons report on linebacker Lawrence Timmons after the 31-year-old left the team prior to its Week 2 game against the Los Angeles Chargers, TMZ reports.

The Dolphins found out that Timmons hadn't made it back for curfew Saturday night and called his family and friends before filing the report.

According to TMZ, Timmons had gone to Los Angeles International Airport hoping to visit his child in Pennsylvania. Cops found him at the airport early Sunday morning, and a Dolphins representative then met him there to leave together. Timmons is now back with the team.

Neither the Dolphins nor Timmons released a statement. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the linebacker is scheduled to see a doctor on Monday, with the hope that he'll get back to practicing this week.
