The New York Jets have signed free-agent receiver Jeremy Kerley to a one-year contract, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Kerley was released by the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday after one season, but previously played for the Jets from 2011 to 2015.

The 28-year-old had his best season with the Jets in 2012, catching 56 passes for 827 yards with two touchdowns. He was the 49ers' leading receiver in 2016 with a career-high 67 receptions for 667 yards and three touchdowns.

Kerley will likely be a starting receiver for the Jets alongside the newly-acquired Jermaine Kearse.
