The Tennessee Titans are placing wide receiver Tajae Sharpe on season-ending injured reserve after he re-injured his surgically-repaired right foot during Thursday's preseason game, a league source told Jason Wolf of The Tennessean.
Sharpe had an impressive start to his rookie year in 2016, but fell out of a favor toward the end of the season, finishing with 41 catches for 522 yards and two touchdowns.
The second-year pro was headed for a season in which he'd likely be buried on the depth chart.
In addition to the team's 2016 receiving leader Rishard Matthews, the Titans drafted Corey Davis in the first round and signed veteran Eric Decker in free agency. Rookie Taywan Taylor has also impressed during training camp and preseason.
