USC quarterback Sam Darnold is projected to be a top-3 selection in the 2018 NFL Draft but isn't concerned about the professional ranks just yet.

Darnold is considered by many to be the prospective first overall pick for next spring's player selection event, and some have suggested NFL teams will tank in order to choose him or UCLA's Josh Rosen.

Just don't tell Darnold about it.

"It's crazy to hear," Darnold said to Brian Costello of the New York Post. "The whole tank or whatever thing, that’s something I don't really want to talk about and something that’s not on my mind at all. It's definitely a little obtuse, the whole idea of it."

Darnold will almost certainly be subjected to the rigors of being a top NFL prospect in the modern age with plenty of scouts and fans dissecting his every move during the upcoming season.

For the time being, the NFL isn't on Darnold's radar as he looks to steer USC to a national title.

"I'm definitely just focused on the now," Darnold said. "When that time comes, I'll focus on that."
