Mayweather vs. McGregor's staunchest detractor is at it again - sort of.

Moments before Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor were scheduled to tip the scales on Friday for their upcoming superfight, retired boxer Oscar De La Hoya issued a crass condemnation of the crossover bout on social media, only to delete the tweet within minutes of dropping it:

De La Hoya has repeatedly deemed Saturday's tilt as a major blow to boxing's credibility, drawing the ire of UFC president Dana White in the process. "The Golden Boy" is currently promoting a clash of middleweight boxing giants Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez, set for Sept. 16 - just three weeks after Mayweather and McGregor's tilt at Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena.
