Kaepernick supporters protest outside NFL headquarters in New York

Colin Kaepernick spent the past year trying to protect the politically and socially disenfranchised. As Kaepernick remains unsigned with the 2017 NFL season on the horizon, his fraternity brothers have now come to his defense.

Kappa Alpha Psi, the fraternity where Kaepernick was a member during his collegiate tenure at Nevada, marched on the NFL headquarters in New York while taking part in "United We Stand: Rally for Colin Kaepernick" on Wednesday.

The New York Police Department was out in full force.

Kaepernick's protest spurred further action from players across the NFL and the conversation surrounding his protest will likely continue to grow louder amid one of the most contentious political regimes in U.S. history.
