Top pick Garrett after 1st sack: 'Many more to come'

At the close of the first half of his second preseason game Monday night, Myles Garrett registered his first sack as a member of the NFL.

The No. 1 pick in this year's NFL draft dropped New York Giants quarterback Geno Smith for a 9-yard loss and, being in Cleveland, home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, proceeded to strum an air guitar as his sack dance.

"Many more to come," Garrett said of his quarterback takedown. "You just like to get it out of the way."

Garrett was working against third-year tackle Ereck Flowers for the majority of his snaps.

"I went speed to power, had the swimover inside and got double-teamed. He bounced me outside, and I kept my eyes on the quarterback. I saw that he was going outside, as well, and just got my hands on him," Garrett said.

The rookie sack record is 14.5, set by Jevon Kearse in 1999. Garrett can begin making headway on that tally in Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
