The Washington Redskins have activated tight end Jordan Reed from the physically unable to perform list after he passed a physical, the team announced Sunday.
Reed had been placed on the PUP list prior to training camp with a toe injury. He said earlier in August that he was "not at all" worried about missing the start of the season.
The 27-year-old tight end will wear customised orthopedics in his cleats to help with the injury and does not expect the ailment to hinder him this season.
"It’s been working good," Reed said. "It's helped my toe out a lot and when I tried them out it felt really good.
"I don’t think it will be a problem during the season because it’s starting to heal up really good right now."
Reed has had a slew of medical issues lately, missing four games last season with a concussion and a shoulder injury, though he still finished third in receiving on his team with 66 catches for 686 yards and six touchdowns.
