Report: Bell not expected to return to Steelers for Week 3 of preseason
While Le'Veon Bell will reportedly return to the Pittsburgh Steelers before the regular season begins, the running back is expected to stay away from the team for Week 3 of the preseason, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
The source added to Fowler, however, they would be surprised if Bell didn't return shortly after that.
Bell has yet to sign the $12.12-million franchise tag, so he isn't facing any fines for missing the preseason.
The Steelers and Bell were unable to agree to a long-term deal this offseason, leading to the fifth-year runner staying away from all activities and training camp.
Bell reportedly turned down a five-year contract worth $12 million annually and said he's looking to reinvigorate the running back market with his next deal.
