Michael Bennett sits for national anthem before preseason opener
Michael Bennett sat alone on the Seattle Seahawks' bench during the national anthem while his teammates stood with locked arms before the preseason opener against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, according to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times.

It's not certain that Bennett was sitting as a protest, but seeing as he's been one of the most outspoken players regarding social injustice over the past few years, it's a safe assumption.
The Pro Bowler is currently writing a book called "How to Make White People Uncomfortable" and has defended Colin Kaepernick's anthem protests.
Kaepernick returned the favor Sunday, retweeting a message of support to Bennett from the free-agent quarterback's "Know Your Rights Camp" campaign's Twitter account.
Bennett's decision to sit came one day after Marshawn Lynch, his former teammate, opted to sit during the anthem.
